“It's all make believe, isn't it?”

I've been in love with her since I can remember and  so am too eager for modern Marilyn indulgence. A romance for Michelle Williams is also blossoming further.

INTRODUCING

It's about time I take a minute to pay homage to the bass-line from upstairs that is Kyle Parsley. We are aiming to collaborate and feature tracks suggested by K.P regularly so watch this space! Please take a moment to tune into the ambient sounds (and visuals) below recommended by Parsley, and explore the rest of the Stylebee - it's about time its viewings notched the bedpost.

SOURCE EXPO 2011

Last week I made the most of my membership with the Ethical Fashion Forum and took the day off work to attend their annual Source Expo. The annual fashion industry trade show is dedicated to ethical manufacturers and suppliers of ethical and fair trade fabrics. The experience was a great chance to network with those in the industry, gather current literature and scope out ideas for next year's looming dissertation. I fully intend to go again next year and utilise the seminars in preparation for my final year's research.

My personal highlights included:

Pieter Theron at Norman Hangers was exciting to talk to on the topic of waste in the fashion industry (a subject close to heart at the moment). He has kindly offered to share some very interesting statistics he has gathered.

Lili design - BioBijoux - Lili was the first, ever so friendly, lady at the Source Expo who caught my attention. She has created a bioplastic (cooked with natural ingredients) for a range of jewellery with is skin friendly (and softening). The items adapt as you wear them making them constantly unique. As well as Lili's owns own extremely affordable designs, the BioBijoux formula is available to buy so jewellery can be made at home.

Lavuk - The fabrics and shapes under this label, By Natasha Gindin are stunning. The clothing is sweatshop free and made locally in LosAngeles with sustainable materials such as organic cotton, tencel, hemp and dead stock silks. The designer is looking to stock in the UK and I certainly would love to see these beauts in store sooner rather than later!

I was quite taken aback at the trade show to see how affordable many ethical clothing pieces are becoming nowadays, such as in bloom's organic underwear range. Love the soft but sensual photography which mimics the designs. A concept store is based on Portobello Road which I will be sure to visit soon.
